I wanna say something about Silverlight not VS, because I've tried it with this video. Firstly, maximizing video windows, still gives awesome image quality. I don't know this video's size but I did not wait for any part of it even scrolling. There are some amazing things with scrolling that I didn't figure it in a couple of seconds.

Thanks, Joe. This video was very helpful because I could pause and rewind to review each step. I have tried several times to get AJAX working by studying books and always encountered a step that didn't work or examples written in C#, so this was great!

I downloaded the latest toolkit: www.codeplex.com/.../ProjectReleases.aspx extracted the zip file..etc but when adding to the toolbox, am getting: there are no components in "....binaries\tools.dll" that can be placed on the toolbox. Am using VS2008 (without sp1, thought currently am downloading the sp1)..any idea why am getting this error?

Hey friends I am just a biggnier in AJAX. Can anyone tell me the way to install the AJAXControlToolkit in Visual Studio 2008 EXPRESS edition. It has in-built Ajax facility, but I want to use the toolkit as well. I have tried the JoeStagner's way, which tells that the dlls could be placed in the ASP.NET folder in program files, but in case of "Visual Studio 2008 EXPRESS" there is no such folder. Can someone help me in this?

I was following along just fine until we added the ConfirmButtonExtender. When I try to run the application I get the error message below. Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed I've tried several other extenders but I always get the same message. Please Help!

Tamonash Gupta, Joe's instructions in the Video on this page have you create the “AJAX Control Toolkit” directory under the Programs directory. You do not have to already have the ASP.NET folder in program files. It is at 4:50 into the video that he goes over the Toolkit’s extraction. Then in Visual Studio 2008 EXPRESS you should be able to brows to the appropriate DLL to be added to when you are selecting to Choose items to that tab.

I solved my System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission issue. I had to move my source code to a local drive. I was running the source over a mapped drive. It's still strange that this error occurs only when I use an AJAX extension.

Hi, Thanks a lot for the video. I followed closely, but it just does not work. My page still does full postback. I am using VS 2008 and .net 3.5 for my website. Is there anything special that we need to do in web.config? FYI: here is my markup and code behind: // markup: Default3.aspx <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default3.aspx.cs" Inherits="Default3" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "" target="_blank">http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> " target="_blank">http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> function pageLoad() { } |
