I cannot watch the video with Media Player.

Error:

Windows Media Player Error Message Help

You've encountered error message C00D10D1 while using Windows Media Player. The following information might help you troubleshoot the issue.

Codec is missing

Windows Media Player cannot play the file (or cannot play either the audio or video portion of the file) because the Sipro Lab Telecom ACELP.net (130) codec is not installed on your computer.

The missing codec might be available to download from the Internet. To search for the Sipro Lab Telecom ACELP.net (130) codec, see WMPlugins.com.

How can this happen on a Microsoft site with a microsoft product?

twkessel : On March 08, 2008 2:30 AM said:

Clark -

The reason this can happen is typically because of a bad sound card driver (let me guess, are you using a Dell?). I would suggest downloading and installing: register.sourcemediaconferences.com/.../ACELPACM.zip

Let me know if this took care of your issue. Also, download the video then play it instead of streaming it.

Take care!

I also had problems viewing the video while running Vista on Parallels (virtualization). My problem was fixed by Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Device Manager->Display Adapters, then right clicking and updating the driver. This got rid of the Parallels display adapter and replaced it with a standard VGA Graphics Adapter. Now everything plays fine in Windows Media Player.

Can membership and roles be integrated with an exisiting users table from a database?

Or, can the controls be wired up with the existing database?

Thanks,

Looks like the codec for this video, Sipro Lab Telecom ACELP.net (130), is not available for x64 Windows Vista.

yay.

Hi Aaron, we've now corrected the issue with video comments that occasionally resulted in a error on postback.  Thanks for the alert.

Video worked fine. Would be nice if there was written documentation to go with it instead of having to write it all down.

I could watch all of the beginner videos up to lesson 8. But I can't view videos 9 - 14. Very frustrating because they are excellent. I'm running Vista and it failed on an audio codec message and no video image with media player. Also tried with DivX player which was a slight improvement in that I could see the pictures but still no sound. Any help???

From all I have learned the language choice is more a matter of preferance than function.  Each works in it's own way but accompolishes almost the same exact result.

I'm unable to view the video with WMP either; I get the same codec error that others are reporting.

After googling a bit, and after getting very frustrated, I found a workaround: use winamp.

You can download it for free from www.winamp.com. Once it's installed, save the video to your HD, and open it with winamp.

FWIW, I use WMP all the time, and have never had any trouble viewing other videos (or playing audio files) with it until now. I'm using Vista and WMP 11.

jroush : On November 05, 2008 5:39 PM said:

One more thing: the mouse sounds in the video are pretty distracting. This is a small thing, and maybe I'm just in a bad mood from having had to deal with the codec error, but the sound of the mouse clicking is loud enough that I'm having trouble paying attention to what the presenter is saying.

Meh. I'll go take a rest and try again in a little bit.
