Description

ComponentArt TabStrip for ASP.NET is a full-featured navigation control as well as a client-side multi-tab control. The product has been written from the ground up for ASP.NET, and is based on ComponentArt's advanced rendering technology.

Feature Highlights:

  • Powerful Navigation Interfaces: Built-in detection of the currently selected Tab, and ability to highlight the currently selected path.
  • Advanced Client Programming: Powerful client-side API featuring Microsoft AJAX library syntax allows for total control over structure and data, with persistence to the server.
  • Elegant Client-side TabStrips: When paired with the MultiPage control, TabStrip also enables efficient client-side TabStrip interfaces.
  • Integrated Object Model: Full programmatic control on the server-side through fully exposed TabStrip structure, and through Javascript objects on the client-side.
  • Fully Customizable: Virtually any design can be implemented through CSS style definitions, and optional custom images.
  • Cross-Browser Compatibility: Supports IE5-7, Firefox 1-2, Netscape 7-8, Mozillas, Opera 8-9, Safari 1.
  • Deep Integration with Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX / 3.5: The control is available in ASP.NET 1.0 and ASP.NET 2.0 frameworks, while offering comprehensive integration with the client-side component model introduced by ASP.NET AJAX (now an integral part of ASP.NET 3.5).
  • New! Direct Web Service Binding: The control supports content population through lightweight client-side binding with ASP.NET 3.5 web services or JSON collections.

Feels like a great scam

I'm using it for some time now, and its not good if you have complicated site, may be its good if you have tiny site where you just display some data in datagrid and need a menu. Well - let me say it. it feels like a great scam. I'll explain it why. 1. Almost every control in their framework has some problem. you wont know it until you use it for complicated pages. 2. it's fine if they have problems and bugs. but you'll have to pay them to get fixes. nothing is free. "ITS A KNOWN ISSUE" THAT'S WHAT YOU'LL SEE EVERYWHERE.and they wont fix it. you'll have to buy a new subscription for a year to get updates as they will only include it in new version. 3. if not updates then at least support should be free, but not its not free either. they want you to buy support so they have "KNOWN ISSUES", which we can not solve as we don't have code. 4. check out forums, most of the issue are pending and haven't been answered for long time. Please dont buy it. unless you want to experience HELL.
