Hi, When you click on Create Web Site in Visual studios 2008, how do you get ASP.NET AJAX - Enabled Web Site to show up in the templates? As I can't find it. Bear in mind, I’ve completed this video and the second video in regards to installing AJAX templates and Version 1.0. I can not build the TemplateVSI as it brings up and error but the guy on the video says it shouldn’t matter (Second Video). Any help would be much appreciated.

Getting started - can explain a little bit of what AJAX is? What difference it makes in ASP.NET world? Installing and directly running a script doesnt make a beginner to understand the basic need of AJAX.

@ simcorperations AJAX =. Asynchronous JavaScript And XML Likely most web pages are synchronous with regards to interaction; example: the end user fills in a form, clicks a SUBMIT button, waits for a reply from the server, then continues. With Ajax, it is possible to send only part of the page to the server. While server side processing is happening, the end user can still perform other activities on the client side web page. The J is for JavaScript which is the scripting language generally used with Ajax. XML is not necessary but often data from the server can be returned as XML. Of course, the programmer needs to understand how to use the returned data be it in XML or otherwise. Checkout "Teach yourself Ajax in 10 minutes a day" from Sam's publishing: , Phil Ballard. (here's a reasonable review: http://www.webreference.com/reviews/ajax_10_min/). (also http://www.asp101.com/articles/sample_chapters/sams_teachyourselfajax/default.asp). Regards, Gerry (Lowry)
