I have SQLEXPRESS installed with all the features (except SSAS, for which a license has been purchased).

While trying to create the DB connection controller, I get the same issue many other users have run into.

Based on the configuration you display, does that mean we can install both instances of SQL Server? (SQL Express and Compact Edition)

If so, please provide a link to the installer for the Compact Edition. Or else possibly provide a proper definition of how to use the local SQLExpress for doing the connection modeling.

1) I have Visual Studio 2010 Professional installed, with the MVC3 extensions

2) I have SQL Express with SSMS (I've added Redgate SQL Prompt Pro)

Now, while trying to install the "Compact Edition" SQL server, it want to install a bunch of Visual Studio components (which I'm sure whether I should)

Now the question is: should i just install the SQL Server 4.0 without the associated Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Tools for SQL Server Compact 4.0?
