This is useful for the very common case of one-parameter actions, but it forces the parameter name to be "id" (unless you add a route specific to the action, which is inconvenient).

I wish I could also map a url component to an action method parameter by position instead of name. For example, I'd like to specify the default route as "{controller}/{action}/{0}, mapping {0} to the first argument of the action method. This would be able to route to all single-parameter controller actions without any routing customization.

That way I can name my action parameters using more descriptive names.

Comment Posted by devenh

When using nullable parameters in the controller, is it better to handle the logic to check whether an "id" was actually passed in or not in the View?

Comment Posted by pradip.bobhate

Thanks a lot explained very well.

But tell me how can I include special charectes in query string

e.g. Home\$Index\#33

Comment Posted by imfarrukhkhan

good explain dear

Comment Posted by HieuSE

good tutorials

Comment Posted by bigdaddycool

This tutorial sucks!

Comment Posted by gbukauskas

Default WEB.CONFIG for MVC3 application has no mentioned sections.
