It would be more intuitive (for me) to have the control that is specifying the SelectMethod via an attribute on the control to also specify the source of the input parameter as an attribute or perhaps some new type of ValueProvider template. One immediate issue I see with this is that multiple controls couldn't use the same SelectMethod if the source of the input parameter for each control is from a different source (e.g. one uses query string, another uses a control, etc.) - whereas if it were part of the control's declaration, each control could specify the source and share the same SelectMethod.

I have to admit that I don't know much about model binding beyond these first 2 videos, so perhaps there are other reasons for this design or other ways of doing the filtering that would address my concern.

Comment Posted by haithemara

It Seems very interesting. However, it definitely could have been presented in a GUI Interface like SqlDataSource, ObjectDataSource which will enable us developers to quickly configure the controls without the need of coding. It seems me like the code can generated dynamically, so hopefully in the next version, this feature will be in a wizard interface like we are custom to:)

Thanks

Comment Posted by kikoz

I'm going to piss a lot of people, I guess, but I have to say that the people like @haithemara are the reason why the entire IT world despises everything related to the .NET platform.

Comment Posted by sleeping dragoon_jtbesar

Thanks for the 'Getting Started Videos' and the downloads.
